Case Study
Forge Retail Park
Tusk were awarded the ground work package to construct a combined storm overflow chamber within the car park of the Forge Retail Park in the East End of Glasgow As the retail park remained open, the health and safety of the public and minimising disturbance to the surrounding business was paramount.
The project was a massive undertaking with a total of 3000m3 of material excavated and removed from the site, a 10m deep concrete chamber built that used 55t of tied rebar and 180m3 of concrete and a piling contractor employed to construct cofferdams at all deep excavation locations. The Camlachie sewer was diverted through this CSO and the screened overflow was tied to the Camlachie burn, which itself runs 9m below ground.
To complete this contract Tusk reinstated all ground to the contract's specification.
